Stories change lives

Stories are a tool used to communicate instruction, values, and change lives. Art is the medium used to wrap and deliver the story in such a way that those who are nearby are drawn into the story, feel the emotions of the actors and walk away with a clear message. The audience become participants in the drama that unfolds before their eyes. Effective storytelling begins with preparation not only as the storyteller(s) memorize lines, but also work behind the scenes to bring to life the set, the cast and the costumes. As I work, I often remember my Grandmother, who would create dresses and costumes for my mom and aunt. I learned from them that professionalism demands that every detail add value to the message at hand. Storytelling is seldom a one person endeavor. The community it fosters has a way of building lasting bonds and bringing the cast together as a unified team, a team united with a single goal. I am on a mission to prepare the set, dance, sing, or animate the story. I believe art is the hidden language for the soul. Every culture craves and creates some type of artistic expressions. Just as Jesus told stories, I believe God has led me to use my art to connect people to Him and each other through the power of a well told story.
